Hank joined the Diego Hernandez Laboratory in Fall 2022 as a Ph.D. student in Kinesiology. With a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education from the National Changhua University of Education and a master’s in Exercise and Sport Science from National Taiwan Normal University, Hank’s research highlights the transformative role of exercise in metabolic health. He investigates how exercise training induces lasting benefits through “liver memory,” a concept akin to muscle memory. By uncovering the molecular mechanisms behind exercise’s impact on liver metabolism, Hank aims to harness these findings to improve liver function and combat Metabolically-Associated Fatty Liver Disease (MAFLD). His work emphasizes exercise as a key tool for preventing and managing chronic liver conditions.
