The latest State of the World’s Fathers report found a shift in attitudes. In 15 countries, between 70% and 90% of men agreed with the statement, “I feel as responsible for care work as my partner.”
Finding a way to increase the participation of men and fathers in unpaid care work would have an important influence on a more equal distribution between women and men.
Fathers have an important role to play beyond financial support. Research shows they play an invaluable role in maternal, infant and child health.
To prevent men from using violence in their households, violence against children needs to stop before they become adults.
