Dr. Siddhartha Satish Saxena is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Heriot-Watt University, United Kingdom, where he works across the School of Social Sciences and the EDICa Caucus. His research, teaching, and consulting sit at the intersection of Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), organizational accountability, and the evolving future of work. He currently works in EDICa project funded by the UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) and the British Academy, including a sector-wide study on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on equalities in the UK’s research and innovation system and a comprehensive evidence review on accountability in workplace DEI policies.
Dr. Saxena earned his Ph.D. in Management and Entrepreneurship, with his dissertation examining gender role congruity in family businesses. Over more than a decade of academic and consulting experience, he has contributed to both scholarship and practice. His work includes designing and delivering EDI training interventions for leading organizations He has also collaborated with industry and social enterprises, developing inclusive HR strategies, well-being initiatives, and long-term diversity frameworks.
His research has been published in respected journals including the Human Resource Management Journal and the Journal of Enterprising Communities, alongside influential case studies on disability, ageism, and workplace mistreatment published by Ivey Publishing and Harvard Business Review. Dr. Saxena has presented at global conferences such as the Academy of Management and the Society of Business Ethics, where he has advanced discussions on algorithmic fairness, workplace inequalities, and the intersection of spirituality, ethics, and DEI.
His contributions have been widely recognized. He received the Ideas Worth Teaching Award (Aspen Institute, 2020), the Fetzer MSR Scholarship (2022), and has served as Principal Investigator and Project Director on multiple funded projects, including the ICSSR Smart Cities initiative and MSR-funded grants. In 2024, he was appointed a Boardroom Apprentice at Public Health Scotland and received pilot funding from the Creative Watts Project to explore language models for learning.
