I am a registered clinical psychologist with a special interest in identity and masculinities. I approach indigenous identity frameworks like the Umoya Self as the centre from which culturally intelligent transformations can be achieved for the multiple cultures of South Africa, including Abrahamic and Eastern faith traditions. I facilitate school belonging programmes for boys, organisational development, and the training of facilitators, coaches, and mentors to deliver sustainable, strengths-based interventions. My PhD thesis zoomed in on male emotional engagement in all-male psychotherapy groups. Masculinity meets Humanity: An adapted model of masculinised psychotherapy was published as a scholarly book by Unisa Press in 2022.
