Rebecca Black

(she/her)

Rebecca Black (she/her) is a design strategist and eco-entrepreneur who works exclusively at the intersection of sustainability and business. She is Founder of environmental communications agency Black Current, Co-Founder of Diversity/Equity/Inclusion championing nonprofit Women in Renewable Energy WiRE, and Chair of the Board of TREC Renewable Energy and Community Finance incubator. In March 2024, she launched the Trellis Fund in honour of her mother Veronica Barnes (Gardner), to support female students who plan to work in the clean energy transition in Canada.

Rebecca holds a Master of Environmental Studies specializing in Business & Sustainability (York University), and a Master of Design in Strategic Foresight & Innovation (OCADU).
