Pedro Álvarez Mosquera is a full-time lecturer in the English Department at the University of Salamanca. He was awarded a Fulbright scholarship in 2008 to support his research on language and social categorization in the context of the US. In recent years, he has specialized in the South African linguistic context. His main areas of research are sociolinguistics, language attitudes, cognitive linguistics, and discourse analysis.
