Dr Paul Gardiner has over 20 years research experience. His multidisciplinary research promotes active ageing with a focus on helping people improve and maintain quality of life. His current research focus is on behavioural approaches to dementia prevention. He works in the School of Public Health.
He has a strong interest in diversity, equity and inclusion and co-founded the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Special Interest Group of the Public Health Association of Australia (PHAA). He is also the Vice President (Finance) of the PHAA.
Previous research areas have included evaluation of drug and alcohol treatment services, development and dissemination of parenting programs, stillbirth epidemiology, and women's health.
