A senior academic developer at the University of Fort Hare. She holds a PhD in Education, a Bachelor Science specializing in Computer Science and Mathematics. Patricia serves as a Coordinating Council member of HELTASA and is a Teaching Advancement Fellow. Her research interests include rural students’ transitions into HE, curriculum development and ICT in education.
Passionate about curriculum transformation and curricular justice to improve student learning experiences across the spectrum of higher education, basic and primary education particularly in learning Mathematics and ICT applications. This is greatly influenced by my learning in journey in Doctor of Philosophy in Education specializing in student retention programming, a Master of Education specializing in Educational Technologies, a Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education and Training, a Licentiate Degree in Computer Science and Mathematics Education, a Trainer Certificate in ICDL, a trainer Certificate for Blackboard and Portfolio development.
Professional practice includes eLearning in Higher Education, ICT in Education, Curriculum Development, Higher Education Studies, Advancing STEM education through colloquia, promoting staff doctoral support through mentorship and promoting rural students learning journeys.
