Pablo Corcho Caballero

I am an astrophysicist studying how galaxies form and evolve. I use multiwavelength observations from large ground- and space-based telescopes to reconstruct their star-formation histories and understand how they change over cosmic time. I am a member of the Euclid space mission and several galaxy surveys using telescopes at the Roque de los Muchachos Observatory in La Palma, Spain, and Siding Spring Observatory in Australia. My research focuses particularly on galaxy “quenching”: the rapid suppression of star formation caused by processes such as galaxy interactions and collisions, or by the interaction of galaxies with the extremely hot gas found in galaxy clusters.
