Oskar Lindenmayer is Collection Manager of Mineralogy and Petrology at Museums Victoria Research Institute, and is responsible for managing Victoria’s State collections of minerals, gemstones, rocks, ores, meteorites, and tektites.
He organises, catalogues and preserve the collections, maintains and improves the digital collection database and facilitates access to the collections for the purposes of research, education and exhibition.
He has a particular focus on leveraging digital data and tools to improve access to underutilised parts of collections. He also has interests in geochemistry, metamorphic petrology, gemmology and the history of geological collections.
