Nigel Tucker is a restoration ecologist specialising in tropical ecosystems, focusing on the role of frugivory in fostering the recovery process. Over a 40year career he has worked extensively in north Queensland and Papua New Guinea, restoring a diverse range of ecosystems including coral cays, mangroves, and wet and dry tropical forests. He was a founding member of the Australasian chapter of the Society for Ecological Restoration and the journal Ecological Restoration and Management. His current research interests are in restoring ecosystem connectivity and invasive species management.
