Nicola Tempest

I am a Senior Lecturer, Subspecialist in Reproductive Medicine and Consultant Gynaecologist at the University of Liverpool/ Liverpool Women`s Hospital.
I spend 50% of my time treating patients with gynaecological conditions such as infertility, endometriosis, heavy menstrual bleeding and fibroids and 50% of my times researching the basic science behind these conditions and potential treatment options. I am particularly interested in the endometrial epithelium, stem cells, the histoarchitecture of the endometrium and the endometrium in implantation. Ongoing research projects include, alternative treatments for chronic pelvic pain, exercise and reproduction, proteins involved in implantation, 3D reconstruction, repurposing of drugs for endometriosis and the progression of endometriosis.
I am a strong advocate for patient education and women`s health education for all. I am a co-host of Between2ovaries, a women`s health podcast, a go-to for everything related to women's health, wellness and real talk. We cover taboo but extremely important topics in a fun and empowering way to provoke conversations and empower.
