Nich Martin is a postdoctoral researcher at the Florida Museum of Natural History whose research focuses on animal behavior, ecology, and the quantitative methods used to understand complex biological systems. He studies how animals gather information, respond to risk, and make decisions, and how those decisions influence ecological and evolutionary processes.

His work combines field and laboratory research with statistical, mathematical, and computational modeling. His research has explored topics including predator-prey interactions, animal communication, wildlife disease, population dynamics, and conservation. Current projects include modeling plague ecology from historical outbreaks and investigating how environmental conditions shape the behavior and survival of animals. Through both empirical and theoretical approaches, he seeks to better understand the mechanisms that drive patterns observed in nature.
