- PhD Student, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Liverpool
I am a feminist researcher interested in reproductive health, rights, and justice. My research focuses mainly on abortion, particularly in the context of Malta (which has a total ban). I have conducted research on Maltese women's personal experiences of abortion, on Malta's medical doctors' views on reproductive methods, and on health and social care professionals' experiences of providing abortion-related care in Malta. My doctoral project makes use of facilitated group discussions and creative methods to explore how stigma impacts on people's understanding of abortion and how women in Malta collectively co-create abortion narratives. In addition to my academic work, I am a founding member of Malta’s pro-choice coalition Voice for Choice and a helpline volunteer with Abortion Support Network.
