- Professor of Community Health Sciences & Senior Research Scientist with Manitoba Centre for Health Policy, University of Manitoba
I am a Professor of Biostatistics and a Canada Research Chair in Methods for Electronic Health Data Quality (Tier 1). I am interested in statistical methods to address biases and errors in routinely-collected population-based data, including administrative health data, electronic medical records, and registries. I have been affiliated with the Manitoba Centre for Health Policy (MCHP), a research unit in the Rady Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Manitoba, for more than 15 years. MCHP provides accurate and timely information to health care decision-makers, analysts and providers, so they can offer services which are effective and efficient in maintaining and improving the health of Manitobans. MCHP's researchers rely upon the unique Manitoba Population Research Data Repository to describe and explain patterns of care and profiles of illness, and to explore other factors that influence health, including income, education, employment and social status.
