Laura Rees is an Associate Professor of Organizational Behavior at the College of Business at Oregon State University. She was formerly a faculty member at Queen’s University in Ontario and the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and was a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Vanderbilt University. Her research focuses on emotions and related cognitive and interpersonal influences that often arise spontaneously and without much conscious thought, but profoundly shape decision-making, negotiations, performance, and well-being at work. Her research has been published in numerous journals, including the Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Annals, the Journal of Applied Psychology, and others. She has served and continues to serve in a number of leadership roles in the academy, including as program chair and board of directors member for the International Association for Conflict Management, representative-at-large and on the five-year leadership track, including Division Chair, for the Academy of Management’s Conflict Management Division, and as a journal editorial review board member for several journals. Laura received her PhD from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan and her Bachelor’s degree in economics from Harvard University. Before academia, Laura was a consultant for The Boston Consulting Group.
