Associate Professor Livingstone's research interests include understanding dietary patterns and their associations with cardiometabolic health. She received her PhD in nutrition in 2013, and has expertise in nutritional epidemiology and behavioral nutrition. Her current program of research is funded by a NHMRC Investigator Grant and aims to design personalized nutrition approaches to improve dietary patterns in young adults. Associate Professor Livingstone also holds a Hort Innovation Grant to test a personalised digital health intervention to improve diets in young adults living in rural communities. Her international expertise is recognized through her involvement with a pan-European randomized controlled trial to evaluate the effect of personalized nutrition advice on change in dietary behaviors.
Associate Professor Livingstone has a competitive track record relative to opportunity, with over 130 peer-reviewed publications in leading journals in her field. She is a member of the Australian Academy of Science National Committee for Nutrition, past Honorary Editor for the Nutrition Society of Australia and is Associate Editor for the International Journal of Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity.
