- Postdoctoral Fellow/Stagiaire postdoctorale, School of Human Nutrition, McGill University
Katherine Labonté is a postdoctoral fellow at McGill University's School of Human Nutrition (Montreal), where she is studying the cognitive determinants of eating behaviors. She received her Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology from Université Laval (Quebec City). Her thesis project helped advance the scientific understanding of the cognitive mechanisms involved in the resumption of an interrupted dynamic task through the use of behavioral and ocular data. She was also interested in ways to reduce the negative impact of task interruptions on performance. In recent years Katherine has also contributed to various research projects on auditory distraction and multitasking. As part of her first postdoctoral position at Université Laval, she coordinated a multidisciplinary project aimed at identifying the optimal configuration of an automated decision support system designed to improve decision making in complex work environments. Her desire to explore decision making in a different context (i.e., food-related choices) led her to pursue her current postdoctoral studies at McGill University.
