- Climate Scientist, Australian Bureau of Meteorology
Justin Peter received his PhD from the School of Mathematics at Monash University.
For his PhD he investigated cloud-aerosol interactions and the initiation of precipitation in cumulus clouds. He has participated in several international field experiments, flying in research aircraft to measure cloud and aerosol microphysics.
Justin previously worked at the Bureau developing algorithms to quality control radar data and also testing and evaluating statistical methods of gridding rainfall measurements across Australia so they can be used for climatological evaluation. He is currently a climate scientist researching projections of rainfall across Australia for hydrological modelling.
