Jelena Kecmanovic

Dr Jelena Kecmanovic (Dr K.) is a clinical psychologist and an Adjunct Professor in the Georgetown University Department of Psychology. She was a founder and director of the Arlington/DC Behavior Therapy Institute. As an expert in Cognitive-Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), she writes about anxiety, resilience, willpower, and the effect of modernity of wellbeing.

Dr K. previously worked as a professor at George Mason University and Hood College, focusing on research and teaching. Her publications include academic articles and chapters dealing with anxiety, depression, relationships, and CBT. As a scholar, teacher, and practitioner, she is uniquely positioned to comment on ways to bridge the science-practice gap in psychology.
