Florence Malongane

Florence Malongane has been the head of Academic Quality Assurance and Enhancement in the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences since January 2022. She obtained her PhD at the University of South Africa in 2018 and is a registered dietitian with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). Her research focuses on food and nutrition security, nutrition, chronic disease of lifestyle and functional foods. Florence has published nine research articles in accredited journals. Florence is an active member of the Unisa Women’s Forum. She is the co-leader of the Daveyton Community Project, which aims to transfer various skills and knowledge in nutrition and food safety, gardening, cooking lessons, etc. Dr Florence Malongane has been featured as a guest on various radio broadcasts such as Africa Channel, Metro FM, Rainbow FM and Unisa Radio. She has contributed articles in True Love and Get It Magazine.
