Dr. Emory Serviss is a Senior Lecturer of Marketing at the Harbert College of Business at Auburn University. Dr. Serviss's work has been published in the Journal of Personal Selling and Sales Management, Journal of Managerial Psychology, and Industrial and Organizational Psychology.

His co-authored manuscript, “Communication Alignment in Sales: The Role of Emotional Intelligence,” won the prestigious Steven J. Shaw & Joe Hair Best Paper Award at the 2020 Society for Marketing Advances (SMA) Conference. In 2023, Dr. Serviss won the Steven J. Shaw & Joe Hair Best Paper Award again for research on the relational and financial perspectives in B2B supplier relationships at the SMA conference. Dr. Serviss has also been recognized for his teaching and has received the prestigious McCartney Teaching Award, awarded by the Harbert College of Business at Auburn University, and was a finalist in 2019 for the Harbert College of Business Lowder Teaching Award.

Prior to academia, he spent over 20 years in industry working in a variety of marketing roles with Fortune 500 companies and ad agencies.
