Emmeline Norris

(She/her)

Emmeline is a conservation biologist whose research focuses on applying remote sensing technologies to improve population monitoring and conservation of threatened species in tropical environments. She is currently undertaking a PhD at James Cook University in Cairns, Australia, where she is investigating how integrating drone-based thermal imaging, artificial intelligence, and hierarchical models can improve population assessment for highly mobile species. While her PhD focuses on the endangered spectacled flying-fox, her broader research interests encompass the conservation of rare and threatened tropical forest mammals across the Indo-Pacific.
