Dr. Emily Jenkins is a Professor in the School of Nursing at the University of British Columbia, a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Nursing, and holds the Canada Research Chair in Population Health Approaches to Mental Health and Substance Use. She is the founder of Wellstream: The Canadian Centre for Innovation in Child and Youth Mental Health and Substance Use at the University of British Columbia, established to address persistent gaps between evidence and practice in schools and community settings.
An internationally recognized leader in youth substance use, Dr. Jenkins has led cross-sector research and implementation initiatives for over two decades, with a focus on translating evidence into impact. Her work has informed federal and provincial policy and practice, particularly in advancing school-based and community responses to substance use. She currently leads a pan-Canadian initiative aimed at strengthening these responses and improving health and wellbeing trajectories for children and youth.
