A domestic violence disclosure scheme is a resource people can check to find out if a particular person has a documented history of domestic violence.

Expanding police powers in dealing with family violence comes with considerable risks to victim-survivors, and should be treated with caution.
Police sometimes misidentify victims as perpetrators – because the real perpetrator has misled them, or because the victim is not displaying “typical” behaviour.
