- Executive Director, Bahana
Elghafiky Bimardhika currently serves as the Executive Director of Bahana (bahana.org), an organization that specializes in evidence-based narrative change through research-to-messaging (RTM) projects. He also serves as Research Director for Bahana's sister organization, Communication for Change (https://communicationforchange.id).
Prior to this, he was employed by Aceso Global as a consultant for Badan Kebijakan Pembangunan Kesehatan (BKPK) at the Ministry of Health, worked on ADBI (Asian Development Bank Institute)-funded research, and was a consultant for Oxford Policy Management Indonesia (OPMI) for a joint World Bank-Ministry of Domestic Affairs (Kemdagri) research project.
He was also a Research Manager at Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab South East Asia (J-PAL SEA). He supervised the establishment and development of Komite Etik Penelitian, an Institutional Review Board (IRB) at J-PAL SEA's host institution, Lembaga Penyelidikan Ekonomi dan Masyarakat (LPEM), Universitas Indonesia.
Elghafiky holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Indonesia and a Master's degree in International and Development Economics from the Crawford School of Public Policy at the Australian National University. He has published his work in the Economics of Education Review, The Conversation, book chapters, working paper series, and on the Bahana's LabNarasi (labnarasi.id) publication series.
