Bahana is an organization that produces and disseminates knowledge and alternative narratives to empower communities. We collaborate with academics, creators, media, and civil society organizations to conduct research, challenge dominant narratives, change perspectives, and foster critical thinking skills.
Bahana is a non-profit organization founded in 2018 to strengthen the role and empowerment of civil society. Bahana strives to build persuasive communication to help communities drive behavioral change, mobilize collective action, and advocate for public policy. Together with its twin organization, Communication for Change (C4C), Bahana conducts narrative research, runs public campaigns, assists civil society organizations in policy advocacy, and organizes strategic training in public communication and advocacy.
Effective narratives, when disseminated to the public, can influence policy-making processes. Bahana utilizes creativity to craft narratives that drive social change towards a more just, prosperous, and livable Indonesia for all.
