Dominic Lees

Dominic Lees’s research looks at deepfakes and Generative AI, examining their impact on the creative screen industries. He is engaged with policy around AI in the creative sector and works as as Specialist Advisor to the UK Parliament on film and High End Television (HETV). Dominic co-leads the Synthetic Media Research Network and is a member of the Alan Turing Institute's 'AI and Arts' interest group. He co-edited a special issue of the journal 'Convergence' on deepfakes and has published academic articles on the subject as well as writing for the British Film Institute’s 'Sight and Sound'. He has a professional background as a TV/ film director with work including multiple episodes of drama series, and the award-winning indie feature, 'Outlanders' (2008).
