David Jeffery

I am a senior lecturer in British Politics at the University of Liverpool.

I hold a PhD in Political Science from Queen Mary, University of London following a BA (Hons) in Politics and International Relations (2010 - 2013) and an MA in Politics with Research Methods (2013 - 2014), both at the University of Sheffield.

My current research is around voting behaviour - from the perspective of the electorate and of MPs in leadership elections and key legislative decisions - alongside populism, local government, and party politics more broadly.

I have published a book on the causes of Conservative decline in Liverpool - Whatever Happened to Tory Liverpool? - which is available to download for free (yes, free) from Liverpool University Press' website (https://www.liverpooluniversitypress.co.uk/doi/book/10.3828/9781802078480)
