Cornelius Okello

I hold a PhD in marine and coastal management, which I completed as part of the Erasmus Mundus joint doctorate programme between the University of Cadiz, Spain, and the University of Bologna, Italy. I also have a Master’s degree in water and coastal management from the University of Plymouth and Universidad de Cadiz, as well as a Bachelor's degree in environmental science from Kenyatta University, Kenya. Currently, I am a senior research assistant at the Wyss Academy for Nature, and I've previously worked as a lecturer at Machakos University, where I also chaired the Department of Environmental Sciences.

My expertise lies in freshwater resource management, climate change adaptation, and environmental impact assessments. I have extensive research experience across multiple projects and regions, and have authored several peer-reviewed journal articles, including contributions to UNEP publications. I am skilled in project management, GIS applications, and interdisciplinary collaboration, and have held various research and consultancy roles in environmental and water management initiatives.
