Anne Skeldon PhD is a Professor of Mathematics and Head of School for the School of Mathematics and Physics at the University of Surrey. She co-leads the interdisciplinary (cross-faculty) Centre for Mathematical and Computational Biology.

After initial degrees at Oxford, she subsequently held postdoctoral positions at Guelph, Bristol and Oxford before taking up her first lectureship position at City University. She moved to the University of Surrey in 2001.

Her research uses mathematical modelling and dynamical systems analysis to understand a broad range of physical, sociological and biological systems.

Her current research interests are largely centred on sleep and circadian rhythms and data science. She collaborates with researchers at the Surrey Sleep Research Centre developing and analysing mathematical models of sleep-wake regulation. Their work featured in the UK parliamentary debate ``School should start at 10am because teenagers are too tired''. She has a particular interest in the impact of our light environment on sleep, including the impact of permanent DST and light intervention strategies for those who struggle to go to sleep at night and get up in the morning. She also develops mathematical models of fatigue.
