André van Hoorn joined the Faculty of Economics & Business of the University of Groningen in January 2010. He holds a PhD from Radboud University Nijmegen and a postgraduate degree in Financial Economic Policy Making (BoFEB) from Erasmus University Rotterdam.
André's experience includes being a policy advisor at the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs, Strategy, Research & International affairs unit and being a trainee at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation (OECD).
André is a certified teacher and teaches different courses, both at the graduate and the undergraduate level, with a focus on international comparative management. In the past he has taught courses in behavioral and experimental economics, among others. He has further been chair of the Program Committee International Business and is currently chairing the Program Committee Global Economics & Management at the University of Groningen. In 2013/2014 he will be a fellow at the Hanse Institute for Advanced Study (HWK) for one year.
Research interests include culture & (informal) institutions, happiness & welfare, and international business.
