Dr. Alexandra Sherlock is a sociocultural anthropologist specialising in the study of footwear, identity and identification. She lectures in the School of Fashion and Textiles at RMIT University. Alexandra is the Founder of the Footwear Research Network, a founding member of the Global Footwear Future Coalition, a member of the Union of Concerned Researchers in Fashion, and a fellow of the Australian Anthropological Society. Alexandra publishes in the fields of fashion, footwear, identity, sustainability, cultural sustainability, theory of affordances and material culture studies. She works closely with industry and the academic community to effect meaningful sociological, ecological and cultural change in the fashion and footwear sector.
