Aidy Halimanjaya

Aidy Halimanjaya, PhD, is a visionary researcher and practitioner whose work bridges climate policy, just transition, and human evolution and resilience, driven by her deep expertise and passion for nurturing lasting human connections in the face of global change. As the founder and director of Just Transition Indonesia—a think tank and living lab registered as Yayasan Transisi Berkeadilan—she spearheads creative research and grassroots initiatives in the middle of global havoc and uncertainty to promote a fair shift toward sustainable economies. With a strong academic background in climate finance and sustainable development, Aidy’s research explores how societies can equitably transition to varying future scenarios. Beyond policy frameworks, she is deeply invested in the human dimension of climate action, examining how shifts in behaviour, governance, and economic systems can cultivate resilience and solidarity. Her work is inspired by an evolutionary approach to humanity’s greatest challenges, emphasizing empathy, justice, and intergenerational equity as the cornerstones of lasting transformation. Through her leadership at Just Transition Indonesia, as well as her writing and advocacy, Aidy makes complex climate issues accessible, empowering individuals and institutions to co-create a fairer, more sustainable world.
