Zandile Dlongolo

I hold a Master of Science in Geography from Rhodes University, where my research explored the disconnect between heritage policy and practice in South Africa. I have over five years of experience in academia and research, with a focus on heritage resource management, archival practice, and cultural geography. My work examines heritage governance, urban cultural landscapes, and the ways in which communities engage with conservation.

I currently lecture in the Augmenting Programme at Rhodes University, where I support first-year students and contribute to interdisciplinary research on heritage and the built environment. My recent publications include studies on participatory conservation and the spatial politics of heritage in Makhanda.
