Zama Mthombeni

I am a senior lecturer at the University of Pretoria with a core research focus on higher education policy, governance and social justice in education, particularly decolonisation. My expertise is expanding into African, international and comparative higher education and scholarship. I hold a PhD in development studies and two Master's degrees: one in public policy and another in local economic development.

With five years of experience at the Human Sciences Research Council (HSRC) at various research levels, I have honed my skills in research design, data analysis and project management. Additionally, I have lectured and tutored at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, further enriching my academic experience. My industry experience in local government has provided me with practical insights into public policy implementation and local economic strategies.
