Yvette Selim is a Senior Research Associate at the Institute for Public Policy and Governance at the University of Technology Sydney. She has a background in law, conflict resolution, bioethics and medical science.
She has a proven track-record of carrying out research which is practice- and policy-oriented. Her research interests include transitional justice, victims' rights, participation, development and peacebuilding.
Yvette has worked with numerous rights-based NGOs and development agencies, including the International Development Law Organization, the Australian Human Rights Centre, Anti-Slavery Australia, The Asia Foundation, and the Centre for International Cooperation and Security. She was a Visiting Fellow at the University of Oxford and the Australian National University. Yvette lectures in a range of subjects at undergraduate and postgraduate level, including development studies, international relations, social science and qualitative research methods.
