Yu-Shan is a Research Fellow at the University of Pretoria. She co-edited the book 'South Africa–China Relations: A Partnership of Paradoxes', Palgrave Macmillan, 2021 (1st edition).
She was previously a Research Associate at the Africa–China Reporting Project (ACRP), Department of Journalism, University of Witwatersrand. She also undertook research on foreign policy issues at the South African Institute of International Affairs (SAIIA), between 2010 and 2017.
Yu-Shan completed her PhD (International Relations) at the University of Pretoria in early 2019. She is a qualified Yoga teacher.
