Youngwon Cho is an associate professor of Political Science and a fellow of the Brian Mulroney Institute of Governance at St. Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia, Canada. His past and ongoing research has examined the political economy of the global reserve system, foreign exchange policies in EMEs, institutionalized monetary cooperation in East Asia, North Korea's nuclear weapons program, and the United Nations Command. He is the recipient of the 2015 SAGE Prize in International Scholarship, awarded by International Journal for his article on the nuclear crisis in the Korean Peninsula. Youngwon was a visiting scholar at the Asiatic Research Institute at Korea University and, most recently, at the Center for Security Strategy at the Sejong Institute in South Korea. He is currently serving as the a member of the Governing Board of the Association of Korean Political Studies.
