Yoon Jung Choi is a Principal Fellow at the Sejong Institute in South Korea and a visiting scholar at Texas A&M University. Her research focuses on the geopolitics and geoeconomics of the Indo-Pacific, with particular attention to how economic and technological forces shape regional security, strategic competition, and middle-power diplomacy.

Her recent work examines strategic adjustment under intensifying great-power rivalry, including India, ASEAN, and South Korea’s responses to shifting U.S. and Chinese policies. She is the author of the forthcoming policy report The Implications of the Trump 2.0 Administration’s Indo-Pacific Strategy for South Korea’s Foreign Policy (2025), and her publications include Order in Tension: Competing Perspectives and Strategies in the Indo-Pacific (editor and co-author, 2024), India, South Korea and ASEAN: Middle Power Diplomacy in the Indo-Pacific (2024), and New Indo-Pacific Vision and the Road Ahead for the South Korea–India Partnership (2023).

Dr. Choi currently co-chairs the Experts and Eminent Persons (EEP) Group of the ASEAN Regional Forum and has advised South Korean government bodies on foreign, security, and economic policy. She engages actively in regional policy dialogues and academic forums on Indo-Pacific strategic affairs.
