Dr Zhang is an Associate Professor at School of Public Health, University of Sydney. She works as an epidemiologist and teaches public health in Australia and China. Ying has over 100 publications from national and international research projects. She is the Co-Chair of the MJA-Lancet Countdown project that develops and tracks indicators on national progress of health and climate change research.
