Yasmine SY

Yasmine Sy is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Management Sciences at University de Reims- Champagne Ardennes, focusing her research on entrepreneurship and particularly the transmission and governance of African family businesses.

Yasmine Sy holds a Master’s degree in International trade and finance from Rennes School of Business in France, as well as a Master of Arts in International Business from the Open University Business School in London, United Kingdom. She began her professional journey as a financial auditor at KPMG in Senegal, where she developed a robust foundation in financial analysis and corporate governance.
With over seventeen years of professional experience, including nearly fifteen years in the management of leading higher institution in West africa Yasmine Sy has been instrumental in driving the institution’s strategic growth and international expansion. Currently serving as the Academic Director of Groupe Supdeco Dakar, she also holds the position of Director of Strategic Development and Quality. Since joining the institution in 2008, she has made a substantial contribution to its development and positioning within the global higher education landscape.
Over the years, she has held several key positions, including Head of Communications and subsequently Head of International Relations and Quality for eight years. In these roles, she successfully strengthened the institution’s international network across four continents—Europe, America, Asia, and Africa—while leading major accreditation processes, thereby elevating the institution's standing on the global stage.
For more than twelve years, Yasmine Sy has been actively engaged in advancing quality assurance and the internationalization of higher education in Africa. Her expertise in these domains has earned her recognition and numerous invitations to share her insights at prestigious international conferences and forums.
She currently serves as a board member of the African Association of Business Schools, where she plays a pivotal role in shaping the strategic direction of business education across the continent.
A passionate advocate for education and knowledge dissemination, Yasmine Sy maintains a profound interest in African literature, art, and fitness. Her deep engagement with history and geopolitics further enriches her strategic and global outlook, informing her approach to leadership and institutional development.
Moreover, gender equality is a matter of particular importance to her. Raised in an environment where boys and girls were treated with equal regard, she is committed to empowering the next generation to believe in themselves and pursue their ambitions. This dedication is reflected in her strong engagement in mentoring female students, who represent 60% of the student body at Groupe Supdeco Dakar. In addition to her role as a lecturer in management—where she teaches courses in managerial culture and postures, business strategy, and quality management—she actively advises several student associations within the institution, fostering leadership and ambition among young women.
