Wolf has researched living standards, livelihoods and food security in a range of different contexts, focusing on policy-relevant questions of resource access and need. He works at Loughborough University’s Centre for Research in Social Policy (CRSP), on research that primarily revolves around the Minimum Income Standard (MIS) programme. Wolf also continues to build on his doctoral research, which explored impacts of food aid for people visiting food banks and community meals, and developed new approaches to the measurement of poverty, food insecurity and wider living standards.
