Widya is a pharmacoepidemiologist with a research focus on drug safety and pharmacovigilance, particularly in using real-world data (big data) to evaluate safety outcomes. Her work focuses on adverse drug reactions and their impact on patient health outcomes, with the aim of supporting regulatory decisions and improving medication safety.
She completed her MSc in Drug Innovation (Drug Regulatory Sciences track) at Utrecht University, the Netherlands. She subsequently obtained her PhD in Pharmacoepidemiology and Drug Safety from the School of Pharmacy, University College London (UCL), United Kingdom. During her time in the Netherlands, she interned at the Department of Pharmacovigilance at the Dutch Medicines Evaluation Board (MEB), where she conducted research on the determinants of regulatory actions following drugs safety signal evaluation at EMA PRAC and developed an interest in drug safety.
She is currently a lecturer and researcher at the Department of Pharmacology and Clinical Pharmacy, Universitas Padjadjaran.
Interests: Pharmacoepidemiology, Pharmacovigilance, Real-World Evidence, Drug Safety, Health Outcomes Research.
