Wayne is an Archaeologist of Gamilaraay ancestry and has lived and conducted research in the Blue Mountains, particularly in the Wollemi National Park for over 35 years. He has also worked extensively in western Arnhem land NT, with Professor Paul Taçon and his team in cooperation with the Lami Lami family from the Wellington Range for nearly a decade..
Wayne has been involved in rock art, both as a rock art specialist and cultural knowledge holder for the Blue Mountains. He also was a long-term former employee of NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service.in the Blue Mountains Region developing and leading Aboriginal Ranger training programs.He is currently a researcher and a mentor at the Department of Archaeology, at the University of Sydney. Wayne has a passion for rock art conservation and ecology. He is strongly committed to his personal growth and the well-being of others, through connection with country and culture. Has a professional interest in rock art monitoring, conservation, interpretation, ecological education and wildfire management.
