• Professor of Translational Neurophysiology, UCL

I am a neuroscientist investigating the connectivity between deep brain structures and the cortical surface. My research group integrates non-invasive techniques (MEG/EEG) with invasive recordings from patients undergoing Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) and epilepsy surgery to study the function and dysfunction of oscillatory brain networks and to map their anatomy with precision. This work aims to refine DBS by targeting pathological activity while avoiding regions and stimulation patterns associated with side effects.

My personal and professional journey began in the former USSR (now Ukraine) and continued through Israel and Germany, before bringing me to London. Since 2006, I have been based at the UCL Queen Square Institute of Neurology.
