- Professor, ARC Future Fellow & Founding Director, Sir Ian Potter NanoBioSensing Facility, RMIT University
Professor Vipul Bansal leads the Ian Potter NanoBioSensing Facility at RMIT University Australia. His cross-disciplinary research team works collaboratively across the interface of chemistry, biology, physics and engineering to provide nanotechnology solutions for health, environment and energy problems. Vipul's mission is to achieve real-world translation of nanotechnologies for societal, biomedical and industrial impact. A number of technologies from his lab are in advance stages of development, including:
(i) a multimodal cancer imaging technology associated with cellular immunotherapies under human clinical trial,
(ii) a point-of-care sensor for detection of vaginal infections under clinical evaluation,
(iii) a nano-bandage for rapid healing of chronic diabetic wounds under pre-clinical assessment,
(iv) a wearable UV sensor technology for solar exposure monitoring under commercial development.
