- Honorary Research Fellow, Menzies School of Health Research
Vincent currently serves as a Senior Research and Evaluation Officer at the NT Department of Children and Families, and as an Honorary Research Fellow in Menzies School of Health Research. Previously, he worked as a statistician at the Menzies School of Health Research, where he gained extensive experience in mental health, Indigenous health, demography, early childhood development, school education, child protection, and juvenile delinquency.
In 2016, Vincent completed a PhD, utilising data-linkage and survival analysis to explore the long-term health outcomes of NT Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians, under the mentorship of Professor John Condon. He subsequently joined the Centre for Child Development and Education, contributing to a data-linkage project that examined the early health, developmental, and educational outcomes of NT children.
As part of Menzies’ submission to the NT Royal Commission, Vincent, alongside Professors Sven Silburn and Steven Guthridge, produced statistical reports analysing the contact of NT children and youth with the child protection and youth justice systems. Prior to his focus on using data-linkage to inform a public health approach to child protection and youth justice in the NT, Vincent worked on a Menzies project developing a culturally appropriate tool to identify the support needs of Indigenous cancer patients (http://www.scnatip.org).
