I am interested in comparative constitutional law, particularly in the areas of Parliamentary sovereignty, entrenchment and procedures for constitutional amendment and protection. I am currently studying Australian Federal and State entrenchment provisions. I will shortly be looking into Canadian Constitutional amendments procedures and provincial constitutions, the German Federal system of constitutional protection and the US and some US state constitutions with regards to constitutional amendment procedures and protection.

Having investigated the above I will consider what lessons can be drawn and utilised in the UK with regards to constitutional protection in respect of both the United Kingdom constitution and those devolved constitutions where such issues may become more acute. For example Scotland’s wish for a ‘permanent’ Parliament and government.
