- Postdoctoral Researcher, Institute of Environmental Medicine, Karolinska Institutet
I earned my Master of Medical Sciences degree from the Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, Sweden, in 2019. Subsequently, I completed a doctoral degree (PhD) in 2024 at the Department of Global Public Health at the Karolinska Institutet. My research focuses on epilepsy and its related comorbidities, specifically examining factors associated with pregnancy and their impact on the health of both mothers and their offspring. During my doctoral project, I investigated the benefits and potential risks associated with the use of antiseizure medications during pregnancy. To gain insights, I utilized registry-based pharmacoepidemiological surveillance and causal modeling. A key aspect of my research involved exploring whether epilepsy is independently linked to the occurrence of various conditions observed in the offspring of mothers with epilepsy. My colleagues and I aim to enhance our understanding of epilepsy and its implications, ultimately striving to improve the health outcomes of both mothers and their children through our work.
